At the age of sixteen, Ciara entered her high school talent show, where she was discovered by Al B. Sure, assistant director and producer. This was the beginning of her musical career. Shortly afterwards, she was offered a spot in a female R&B group named ADAS' (All Dat And Some). This group later won over five talent shows in the city of Atlanta. Winning first prize in one of these talent shows gave them a spot at Showtime At The Apollo's Amateur Night. They won four consecutive times (the longest that a singing group has ever won). They were immediately signed to Columbia Records, but for logistical reasons, the album was never released. By the age of eighteen, her singing group had worked with artists' such as Boys II Men, Silk, SWV, Keith Sweat, Gerald LeVert, Shai, Xscape, Deon Farris, and the list goes on. Ciara has now dedicated her life towards academic excellence. She believes that her dream of becoming a musical entertainer can be achieved at a later time in her life, but now she must focus on recieving something that no one can ever take away from her; an education. Her philosophy of thinking is "My dream is to become a singer; my goal is to become a successful leader in real estate and education; my focus is my goal, and with goals all dreams can come true.
